These guys are smiling because HOLE #9 is NOW OPEN! After two months and lots of hard work hole #9 is finally open! The entire hole has been rebuilt, reshaped, re-sodded, and is in great shape. Along with the entire green, the old cart path was washed away so a new cart path now meanders through the trees and along the lake creating a much wider fairway and new landing areas. The entire fairway and roughs were either re-sodded or reseeded and are looking good. Thank you to all our customers for all your support and encouraging words during the past couple of months. We continue to make improvements and hope you enjoy them. Please come on out and check out all the new things happening at Highland Rim Golf Course.
What time is it at Highland Rim? It's Tee Time!
New clocks have been installed on the driving range and at the first tee to assist all golfers with keeping track of tee times. The day's course rules are also posted to help keep you informed. Along with the clock, a new granite bench and landscaping have been added to the driving range to give it a more polished look. Book a tee time today to check out all our new improvements!

Preparation instructions: After flood removes entire #9 green down river, use countless hours of labor to layer each of the above ingredients starting with drain tile, then gravel. If you have been to Highland Rim Golf Course recently you have probably noticed that # 9 green was totally washed away by the floods. We are doing everything we can to rebuild the green and are even making improvements to it. Countless hours have gone into rebuilding the green and it will be sodded this week, weather permitting. Current rates will stay reduced until we open all 18 holes. May be subject to change. Play 17 holes for only $28 weekend, $22 weekday, all day.
In addition to rebuilding # 9 we have also added new sod to several tee boxes, including # 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 17 to improve playability. Numerous other improvements have been taking place so we hope you'll come out and check them out. Thank you for all the support we have received from our customers during this difficult time. Please call or book online today to make a tee time. We hope to see you soon!
Good News! The new GPS systems are in place, so every cart now has a brand new GPS unit. They feature course layout and distances with full color graphics. Additional features will be added in the coming weeks.
It's been a busy time here at Highland Rim...
The new tee signs arrived and were installed at each hole. We are happy to report that although some of the signs were knocked down, they did not wash away. Each marker weighs 475 pounds and are solid granite to it was quite a feat to install them. First the holes were dug with the DItch WItch, then the tee signs were transported by trailer to each hole, next the maintenance staff did additional manual shoveling and placed them in each hole. Finally, the signs were leveled and secured. Now the crew is reinstalling several of the signs to help make it easier for you to locate each hole. Flowers are being added around the base of each tee sign to enhance the appearance. Below are some pictures of the process. We hope you enjoy our new look.

We have been anxiously waiting to reveal our new logo and here it is! The logo is starting to appear all over Highland Rim Golf Course, on the new course tee signs, GPS System, in the pro shop, on the flags and several other places.
Why are we changing our logo? Because our current logo represented Through the Green and we thought Highland Rim Golf Course should have its own unique logo. This time we tried a new approach with the logo design and decided to open up the contest by trying out a website called logotournament.com.
In the online contest over 70 graphic artists from around the world competed to design the new logo. Artists from countries like Malaysia, Serbia, Russia and the US competed with submissions of 234 different logo ideas. We narrowed down the list and finally choose the logo you see above designed by an American, K. Carroll from North Carolina. The reason we liked his submission the best was because we felt it really conveyed the feeling of the course;. The cliffs and hilly terrain are represented by the three different shades of green behind the flag stick. The bird soaring in the air represents the raptors and other species of birds that can be seen on the course throughout the day. And finally we think the overall feeling you get when you look at the logo is the quiet, calm, serene feeling of the course.
A public course that’s so private you can hear your putts drop…Where we want you to feel at home.
We are simplifying our name from Through the Green-Highland Rim to Highland Rim Golf Course. So we are "cutting off" Through the Green but keeping the second part, Highland Rim. You may be wondering why our name was so long to begin with? Originally we began with a nine hole teaching course in Franklin called Through the Green. When we added our second course northwest of Nashville, the 18 hole championship course you currently play, we named it Through the Green-Highland Rim to let people know they could expect the same great service and course conditioning. Now that the Franklin course closure is behind us, we feel it's time to shorten our name to Highland Rim Golf Course. (Honestly, Saying "Through The Green - Highland Rim, how may we help you?" is quite a mouthful when you answer the phone 200+ times a day).
